My name is Keith Lickey (Yogi Keith) and I've been practicing yoga since I first discovered it in 1969. Since those early years I've taken teacher trainings, many, many yoga classes taught by great teachers, becoming a teacher of yoga myself in 1989, joining my future partner teaching classes, workshops and retreats. My style of yoga is strongly influenced by the personal example and teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar and also by the classic yoga texts, The Bhagavad Gita, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the writings of Paramahansa Yogananda, as well as the Vedic, Upanishads, and classic Buddhist teachings. I love to adapt yoga to the needs of my students, respecting their needs, strengths and wisdom. I am devoted to yoga as a lifestyle and committed to helping others to improve their health and lives through the simple practices of yoga, on whatever level they want to pursue it. I know how transformative even the simplest yoga can be, physically, mentally and spiritually. |
